Een vijand van het volk

Een vijand van het Volk

Director Hilde Tuinstra of De Theaterschool Amsterdam was in need of an artwork and a publicity poster for her graduation performance of "Een vijand van het volk" (An Enemy of the People), a play written by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen in 1882.

The artwork symbolizes the inner conflict of making ethical choices between right and wrong.

Summary: Dr. Stockmann, portrayed by André Dongelmans, uncovers a dangerous illness in the new wellness center of his town and urges the authorities to fix or shut down the baths. However, his brother, the Mayor, refuses to accept the report as it would devastate the town financially. This conflict highlights the clash between personal gain and moral principles. The story delves into the struggle to convey a crucial message effectively and the power to shape reality through intelligent persuasion.
